The Final Chapter is a powerful visual story of the human spirit that made up the Rhodesian Forces who can trace their origins back to the late 19th century when the early settlers entered Matabele occupied territory.

The granting of a Royal Charter in 1889 to Cecil John Rhodes enabled Britain to extend her influence deeper into Africa. The region to become known as Rhodesia was occupied in 1890 in the name of Queen Victoria.

The arrival of the pioneer columns was not to be without struggle. The proud warrior nature of the Matabele people was to provide more than token resistance to the settlers, culminating in the Matabele and Shona Rebellions in 1896.
