The Final Chapter is a powerful visual story
of the human spirit that made up the Rhodesian Forces who
can trace their origins back to the late 19th century when
the early settlers entered Matabele occupied territory.
The granting of a Royal Charter in 1889 to Cecil John Rhodes
enabled Britain to extend her influence deeper into Africa.
The region to become known as Rhodesia was occupied in 1890
in the name of Queen Victoria.
The arrival of the pioneer columns was not to be without
struggle. The proud warrior nature of the Matabele people
was to provide more than token resistance to the settlers,
culminating in the Matabele and Shona Rebellions in 1896.
